3 Garden Vegetables

The Joy of growing vegetables in your own garden

Growing your own vegetables in your garden or allotment is both very satisfying and extremely enjoyable. Out in the garden in the fresh air, working at your own pace, watching the progress of your vegetable plants as they grow from tiny seedlings to large and productive plants – what could be better?

For one thing, vegetable gardening is certainly green exercise and recent research has shown that just five minutes of exercise outdoors lifts everyone’s happiness factor significantly. And then you get to eat the result and nothing, but
nothing, tastes as good as fresh garden vegetables. And you have reduced your carbon footprint by saving on your food miles.

A large number of vegetables are surprisingly easy to grow in the garden. Nature is on your side after all. Plants want to grow and flourish. Vegetables, like us, need food and water, light and warmth. Many other creatures will also like to eat the vegetables from your garden – slugs, birds, aphids and so on.

No wonder vegetable gardening is becoming more and more popular.
